Samsung Galaxy Note 7 review, features, specifications and anaylsis

Samsung Galaxy Note 7

Last month, Samsung took wraps off its sexiest looking Note series flagship aka Samsung Galaxy Note 7. Its perfect wrapped glass and beautiful Display would steal everyone’s eyes. The “Note 7” title confused many people as Samsung should have released Note 6. Well, it seems Samsung wants to match Note Series with S Series because every year Note Series seemed to be last Generation, like, Note 5 released with Galaxy S6. This will make it appealing.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Analysis

Now, let us analyse the new Samsung Galaxy Note 7 by considering some of its key features.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has dual edged curved screen, which not only makes it look symmetrical but also enhances functions of the device. The display is SUPER AMOLED which is best in Smartphones presently. Colors are vibrant, blacks are deeper and white has improved too. This is one of the brightest device, with a PPI of 518, it is very hard to spot individual pixels even if your are close to the display.

While Samsung didn’t give 4k display, what makes Samsung Galaxy Note 7 stand out is the inclusion of HDR (High Dynamic Range) which is the next big thing in home entertainment. Samsung calls it ‘Mobile HDR‘, It is basically a technology which improves contrast and retains the details at the darkest and brightest areas of the screen. It does make a lot of difference and makes Samsung Galaxy Note 7 stand out.

The camera is 12Mp, it may seem less, but don’t let these pixels fool you. It outmuscles the cameras on other flagships like iPhone 6s and HTC 10. It’s fast, super-easy to use with a wide f/1.7 aperture for great low-light performance.

There is OIS (Optical image Stabalization) which helps to get stable shots. Samsung has implemented ‘Dual pixel’ technology, which essentially makes pixels larger to allow more light instead of increasing number of pixels.

Pictures look absolutely fantastic with perfect exposure and balanced colors though they are a bit brighter.

Skin tone’s fine and colors pop.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is powered by Exynos 8890 which is an octa-core chip and its performance is no joke. Its CPU shines in the Geekbench score.

But benchmarks only tell half story. It can never reveal multitasking ability and Daily tasks handling of the device. Is Samsung Galaxy Note 7 fluid, fast enough not to notice lags and frustrate user ? I would say NO. I haven’t yet seen an Android device that can do so. It isn’t Samsung’s fault, it depends on the code complexity of the Application like twitter for Android is a complete mess.

Spending some time with the device i could easily see slowdowns and lags. but if you overanalyze to that level, I don’t think you will be satisfied with any device. Overall usage of Note 7 is fine and it responds  quickly to almost all of the tasks and heavy games. So, I wouldn’t rate it the best performing device in the market(Blame game goes to Android as well as Samsung’s touchWiz) but definitely worth buying.

Curves get redefined. Giving Samsung Galaxy note 7 symmetrical design was Samsung’s best design implementation on the device. Sure, the glass wrapped body along with some metal make the device delicate, but beauty comes at a price, doesn’t it ? The less pronounced curves make Samsung Galaxy Note 7 easy to handle and less slippery.

Samsung has brought Black, Silver, gold and all new Coral blue color. Although Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is slightly bigger than Galaxy S7 but it still feels more comfortable. Design-wise it’s difficult to see what Samsung will improve in the next iteration. Overall, Samsung Galaxy Note 7 feels one of the sexiest and elegant device of 2016.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has a 3500 mAh non-removable battery. Samsung has implemented a new Power Saving System into this device, which works fine. There is  also a separate Power Saving option for gaming. The Exynos model is more power efficient than the Snapdragon variant.

IRIS Scanner

This brings a new level of security to Samsung Galaxy Note 7. it unlocks the phone with the scan of your eyes. The contours of one’s eyes are as unique as  a fingerprint, so, Samsung thinks it as one of the most secure ways to protect your device.

Water Proof

IP68 certification makes it dust and sand proof, also, S-pen is sealed too, so you can take the device underwater and take cool underwater selfies along with s-pen.

It makes Note series stand different from all devices in the market. The tip of s-pen has been redefined to a smaller diameter of 0.7mm from 1.6mm and is twice as sensitive. It is a unique way to interact with your device that no other brand is offering.

It is the device that lifts the standard bar of Samsung, with all the functionality of already perfect Galaxy S7 and added a functionality of S-Pen and new features like IRIS Scanner and USB Type-C. Whatever features S-Pen provides, can’t be replaced by any device in the market.
