Best Moments of the Oscars of all time

Hello, people !

As you, all must be knowing that the Academy Awards or the Oscars is one of the most prestigious awards in the world. In this ceremony, people from all over the world are honoured for their work and achievements in the field of cinema. The technicians, the actors, the directors, the writers, etc., everyone is honoured in this ceremony for their incredible work in their respective fields. 
Now, here in this article, I am going to share with you all some of the most memorable moments of all time in the Oscars. These moments are funny, emotional, sad, happy and everything. There had been a lot of moments that can be listed below in ‘some memorable moments of all time in the Oscars’ list but here I am going to share with you all my top 10 moments of all time. I hope you’ll enjoy it.

1. Marlon Brando’s Oscar rejection

In 1973, the man who is cited as the greatest and the most influential actor of all time, Marlon Brando, rejected his Oscar award for the Best Actor for his brilliant performance in one of the splendid movies of all time, The Godfather. Some people say that The Godfather is the finest movie ever made in the history.
So, during the Academy Award ceremony of 1973, when Marlon Brando was declared as the best actor, he wasn’t present there. An activist for Native American civil rights and an actress, Sacheen Littlefeather was there because Brando sent her. Littlefeather in her speech said that she was there on behalf of Marlon Brando and he could not accept this generous award because of the treatment with the American Indians by the film industry.  This incident took many spotlights on different media platforms. 2. Cuba Gooding Jr.’s acceptance speech

In the year 1997, Cuba Gooding Jr. was awarded the Oscar for best supporting actor for his role in the movie, Jerry Maguire, starring Tom Cruise. The reason why his speech is in the list of most memorable moments of the Oscars is that, in the ceremony, there is a fixed duration for which a person can speak after winning an award and if a person crosses that duration, then music would start playing. So, when the music started playing when Cuba was speaking, he started screaming and shouting every person’s name to whom he wanted to thank. That made his speech memorable because one can easily see that how much delighted he was after receiving that prestigious honour. 3. The Oscar Selfie

This is perhaps the best Oscar moment of all time. This happened in the year 2014 when the host of that year’s Academy Awards, Ellen DeGeneres was having fun among the audience and she called few of the celebrities and ask them to have a selfie with her. Some of the most famous actors joined her including Bradley Cooper, Angelina Jolie, Kevin Spacey, Julia Roberts, Jennifer Lawrence, Brad Pitt. Ellen immediately tweeted that selfie. The selfie became the most tweeted moment of entertainment in just one hour and that selfie is now seen as the most retweeted picture on twitter of the year 2014, which Ellen wanted. 4. Streaker on the stage

This funny incident took place in the 46th Academy Awards ceremony in the year 1974. The host of that ceremony was the famous English actor, David Niven. While David was speaking on the stage and was taking the ceremony forward, suddenly, a streaker named Robert Opel, who was a photographer came running naked behind David on the stage. Everybody sitting in the audience started laughing. That moment gained more spotlight when David added a solid funny statement and the end saying “isn’t that fascinating?, that probably the only laugh that man will ever get in his life is by stripping off and showing his shortcomings”. 5. Roberto Benigni’s celebration

In the year 1999, the Italian actor Roberto Benigni was awarded the best foreign film award for his movie ‘Life is beautiful‘. Roberto was both the actor and the director of that movie. The actor was so much delighted when he heard his name for the award that his celebration made that moment one of the most memorable moments of the Oscars. Roberto literally stood up on his seat and started walking towards the podium by stepping at the top of other people’s seat. He stopped and by standing there, he started waving his hands to the audience. One could easily see that how much happy he was to win that award. That moment was very funny. Roberto just went wild. 6. First woman to win the best Director award

Kathryn Bigelow, in the year 2010 made history by winning the best director award for her film ‘The Hurt Locker‘. Kathryn became the first woman to win the best director award in the history of the Academy Awards. That moment became one of the most memorable and historical moments of the Oscars of all time.

7. Hugh Jackman’s Opening number

In the year 2009, the actor Hugh Jackman‘s opening number became very famous in the Oscars. Hugh presented his act of around seven minutes in a very different and musical way. He was giving the tribute to all the movies that were nominated for the best picture award that year. Hugh’s act was highly appreciated and he was literally singing and dancing on the stage. 8. Ben Affleck And Matt Damon winning the Oscar

When both of these brilliant actors were very young and in their twenties, they were awarded the Oscar for the best original Screenplay for the movie ‘Good Will Hunting‘ in the year 1998.  The thing that made this moment special and memorable is their speech. They were not at all prepared and like any other two young guys, they were just screaming everybody’s name to whom they wanted to thank. 9. Adrien Brody’s Kiss

In the year 2003, Adrien Brody won the award for the best actor for his role in the movie ‘The Pianist‘. Adrien became the youngest person to win the Academy Award. The famous actress, Halle Berry, announced the name of Adrien for the award. When Adrien came up on the stage, he kissed Halle Berry and made that moment worth remembering for everyone. Never before something like that happened in the Oscars ever. Even Halle wasn’t expecting that. Well, we cannot blame Adrien because after all it was the best moment of his life and one of the most beautiful women was there to present him to share that moment. 10. Ben stiller in his AVATAR get-up

In the 2010 Academy Awards, the actor Ben Stiller stole the show by coming down in the AVATAR movie character’s get-up to present the award for the best Makeup. Ben stiller was looking very funny and he made every person to laugh really hard. He presented the award as Na’vi. He was having a blue colour on his face and also a plug-in tail. Ben stiller made that moment memorable with that funny get-up.
